Antifouling & Hull Blacking
Blacking is the single best thing you can do for a steel hull. We pressure wash, prepare and coat your hull with bitumen, two-pack epoxy or antifoul depending on where and how you cruise, and replace tired anodes while the boat is out. Work is carried out at a partner yard or dock, and we can move the boat there and back for you.
No obligation, no pushy follow-ups — just a straight answer and a fair price.
How it works.
Bitumen blacking
The traditional, cost-effective choice for steel narrowboats — typically every two to three years.
Two-pack epoxy
A longer-lasting, harder-wearing system for owners who'd rather black less often.
Antifouling
Correct antifoul for rivers, tidal waters and GRP hulls, applied over a properly prepared surface.
Anodes & touch-ups
Sacrificial anode replacement, weld checks and rust spot treatment while the hull is exposed.

Who it's for.
Common questions.
How often should I black my boat?
Bitumen typically every two to three years; a two-pack epoxy system can last considerably longer. We'll tell you honestly what your hull needs when we inspect it.
Can you move the boat to the dock?
Yes — we can collect your boat, take it to the yard, oversee the work and return it to your mooring.
Tell us about your boat and we'll price it up.
Two or three lines is enough to get started. We reply to most enquiries the same working day.
