Terms of Service
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern the provision of boat delivery, skipper and concierge services by RiverWays ("we", "us") to you ("the Customer"). By requesting a quotation or engaging our services, you agree to these Terms.
1. Services
We provide vessel delivery, relocation, skipper hire and concierge services across the United Kingdom's inland waterways as described on our website and in your quotation. Each engagement is subject to a specific written quotation.
2. Quotations & bookings
Quotations are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise. A booking is confirmed only when we accept it in writing and receive any required deposit. All bookings are subject to weather, waterway conditions and navigation authority stoppages.
3. Customer obligations
The Customer warrants that the vessel is seaworthy, holds a valid river/waterway licence, a current Boat Safety Scheme certificate, and comprehensive marine insurance permitting delivery by a professional third-party skipper. Full details are set out in our Owner Requirements section.
4. Pricing & payment
Prices are quoted in pounds sterling and exclude VAT unless stated otherwise. Payment terms are set out in your quotation. Additional costs (fuel, licences, mooring fees, stoppage delays) are passed on at cost with receipts.
5. Cancellation
- Cancellations more than 14 days before departure: full refund of any deposit less reasonable administration costs.
- Cancellations 7–14 days before: 50% of the quoted fee is payable.
- Cancellations within 7 days: the full quoted fee is payable.
- If we cancel due to weather, safety or waterway closure, we will offer an alternative date or full refund.
6. Liability & insurance
We carry public liability and professional indemnity insurance. Our liability is limited to the fees paid for the affected service except where liability cannot be limited by law (including death or personal injury caused by negligence). We are not liable for pre-existing defects, mechanical failure, or losses arising from inaccurate information provided by the Customer.
7. Risk & condition report
We complete a photographic condition report before departure and on handover. Any dispute regarding condition must be raised in writing within 48 hours of handover.
8. Force majeure
We are not liable for delays or failures caused by events beyond our reasonable control including severe weather, lock stoppages, flooding, industrial action or acts of authority.
9. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
